Digital Manga Internship – Translated two 130-page manga volumes from Japanese to English. Translated manga were relatively older-aimed in target audience, supplied with no Furigana, and featured occasionally high-level vocabulary, Kanji, and grammar.

Japanese Study and Translation – Self-motivated study out of interest in the Japanese language. Formal college classes taken from Fall 2012 – present, with a large focus on independent study and staying ahead of the class through:
Reading children’s manga to expand vocabulary, grammar, and Kanji knowledge
Seeking out native speakers on websites like Twitter and Lang-8 to have as speaking partners
